If someone said to me 10 years ago that I would be working with a Youthwork Charity in Keighley and Bradford, I would have laughed in their face. If they then told me I would be working alongside young people from different faiths then I would have rang the police because that’s just crazy! However here I am.
My name is Chris Reynolds and I am the new Youth worker for The Feast. My journey to this point in time has been far from what I could have ever expected in life. This journey has brought me from Northern Ireland to Canada, through Thailand, 4 years in Bradford with another charity and now starting with The Feast.
Instead of boring you with the rest of my life story (even though it’s quite interesting apparently) I just wanted to say hello and how excited I am about being in this position within this unique organisation. Last week I spent 3 days in Birmingham hanging out with the entire team. This time was liberating and challenging as I look forward to what is going to take place in Bradford/Keighley. If I said I wasn’t nervous I would be lying; however my excitement is overcoming my fears each day.
It really is a privilege to be part of this amazing team and charity – one my wife (Natalie) and I do not take for granted. Thank you to the Local Leadership Group, led by Steve Grasham, for the work put in to starting The Feast here in Yorkshire.
I look forward to meeting and working with everyone involved with, supporting and interested in the work of The Feast. Please continue to believe in what we do because it is changing people’s lives each day.
