Merchant Taylors - Charity of the Year!

The Feast is thrilled to have been chosen as the Master's Charity for the Merchant Taylors’ Company in 2020-21 - one of the great twelve livery companies of the City of London. The Merchant Taylors’ Company dates from 1327, when it was a social and religious fraternity of tailors and linen-armourers dedicated to St John the Baptist, and continues to be dedicated to education, fraternity and philanthropy today. As London has weathered fires, global wars, myriad political changes and plagues, the Merchant Taylors' Company continued to occupy the same site on Threadneedle Street since the 14th century!

The Feast has been generously supported by Merchant Taylors over a number of years and being chosen as the Master's Charity of the Year in 2020 speaks to the strong regard they have for our work, particularly that of our Tower Hamlets team.

The Feast is so grateful to this year’s Master, Mrs Jane Hall, for her encouragement and support of The Feast and especially for selecting us as her Charity this year.

We look forward to working with Jane and Merchant Taylors as their Charity of the Year to further promote and support The Feast's work. The Company motto of Merchant Taylors is “In harmony, small things grow,” which is also a wonderful way to describe the work of The Feast. As their Charity of the Year, we greatly appreciate Merchant Taylors helping The Feast continue to grow our work of bringing together young people of different faiths and cultures to build bridges across divides.
