Part-time Youth and Schools Worker

Temporary contract (funded for 4 years)

We are looking for an experienced youth worker to join our team in London. Our vision is to see young people of different faiths and cultures coming together to form real friendships, learn how to live well with difference and be peacemakers in their communities.

About the job

Salary: £24,500 pro rata (£12.56 per hour)
Hours per week: 15 (2 days a week)
Contract type: Fixed term
for 4 years  

The post holder will work closely with the London Hub Manager to

  • run youth encounters that bring together teenagers from different religions and ethnic backgrounds
  • help run and promote a weekly youth group
  • promote Feast activities and programmes to a range of different communities
  • build relationships with different faith groups, community groups and schools
  • assist with some administrative tasks such as updating records, reporting on projects, and updating social media posts

This role works really well as a secondment from another organisation or alongside another job.

About you

  • You will be able to take initiative, be innovative and able to work independently
  • You will occasionally be free to work at weekends or in the evening
  • Your communication skills will be excellent, both verbally and in writing
  • You will be able to relate well with and adapt to a broad range of people
  • You will work in close collaboration with the other members of The Feast team in Luton
  • You will subscribe to the ethos of The Feast and agree to conduct publicly visible discussions (whether on social media or in person) in line with The Feast’s Guidelines for Dialogue
