Part-time Youth Worker

Temporary Contract – 9 months maternity cover

An exciting opportunity to join an award winning organisation, based in Birmingham.

Are you passionate about young people? Do you want to become part of a growing team that brings young people of different faiths together across the city? We are looking for an experienced youth worker to join our team at The Feast.

About The Feast

Young people are growing up in a country surrounded by different faiths yet often lead separate lives.  As a result young people can experience barriers of ignorance, fear and mistrust in their communities, which sometimes leads to hostility or conflict.

Our vision is to see young people of different faiths and cultures coming together to form real friendships, learn how to live well with difference and be peacemakers in their communities.

The role

The post is part time (15 hours a week). You will be part of a team who work with community and school groups, running youth encounters where young people of different faiths come together to have fun, talk about faith and identity and become friends. You will have access to training along with the advantages of working in a friendly and supportive team.

There will be opportunities for more paid hours during school holidays.

The Feast is committed to safeguarding the welfare of young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  This post will be subject to full employment checks, including an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

If you would like to know more details and request a job description and an application form, please contact Jill Appleton, Birmingham Development Manager on 07885 195707 or email

We are open for this to be a secondment.
